OVER 75 YEARS OF SINGING IN THE BORDERS

WELCOME TO BERWICK ARTS CHOIR

Berwick Arts Choir is a friendly, mixed voice choir of around fifty members based in Berwick-upon-Tweed, Northumberland. We are always keen to welcome new members.

We enjoy singing a varied repertoire of major choral works from Bach to Britten. Our musical season starts in September and ends in April / May, and we normally give two concerts a year with professional soloists and musicians.

We rehearse on Thursday evenings at 7pm in Spittal Community Centre and rehearsals for this year's Winter concert will commence on Thursday 11th September 2025. Please email us at berwickartschoir@gmail.com for further details.

WHAT THE CHOIR MEANS TO OUR MEMBERS

Choral singing is both healing and life-affirming, which is why I look forward to my weekly dose of Berwick Arts Choir.

It is here that I find good music which, on occasion, challenges me in a good way, as well as friendship in the company of like-minded people.

As a newcomer to the choir (and to Berwick) I was made very welcome and given the help I needed to feel confident in singing with a choir again for the first time in many years.

The conductor has a nice way of encouraging us to achieve the best of which we are capable.

Choral singing gives immense exhilaration and satisfaction. In my 50+ years of membership of BAC I have learned much beautiful music, met many nice people, and made some very good friends.

Newcomers are warmly welcomed.
